The small settlement is located 15 km north from Pigadia, at the exit of a large valley, protected by high mountains. It is reachable easy by car or bike via narrow and sinuous road, with amazing views to the Aegean sea. At the end of the road you can find a lot of parking places, many of them are shady. Kyra Panagia provides all basic amenities, such as taverns with traditional greek food, rooms for accommodation, beach bars, and mini market. The streets are filled with many kinds of flowers, such as oleanders, bougainvilleas, geraniums.
The beach of Kyra Panagia is extremely beautiful, with turquoise-coloured waters and magnificent rocky seabed. The beach has a semi-circular shape surrounded by impressive white rocky cliffs creating a spectacular setting. The pure beauty of the area, the specific terrain, the light grey pebbles and the crystal waters compose a stunning scenery. On both side of the beach are beautiful rocky formations and cavities, which are interesting places to visit. Here you will find all the services of a well organized beach like parasols, sunbeds, snack bars, showers, and changing rooms. The best views to Kyra Panagia are from the chapel’s garden, located on the southern side of the beach. From here you can easily confirm that Kyra Panagia is one of the most spectacular beaches in Karpathos island.
